God................." are you with me?"
By marcie on 3/5/2008 2:53 PM

Greetings Everyone~

Have you ever had a moment where you ask God to “hang a sign from heaven” so you can “TRUST” that He is “with you” as He promises? Well my son did, just last week. He had been assigned to travel to California for a few weeks of work, and though he was a specialist in his profession with confidence to do the job, he had no idea how different the people were, let alone how many of them would be driving to work at the same time as him, or how different the driving is compared to what he was accustomed to …though I must say, I still get white knuckles ridding with HIM..! (tee hee) Well once he got the driving skill perfected, he was put out on his own to navigate the area. On one particular day, his last job was scheduled in a “shady” neighborhood where people lock the doors and keep shades pulled during the daylight. In his effort to get reli ...

Tea memories continued.....
By marcie on 2/19/2008 9:27 PM

Greetings Everyone~

You know how, we women, who are talkers are “not finished yet”…tee hee… well I was not through talking, I needed to tell you about the richest part of the Tea…the “crème -de-la-creme"…no, no,… not the sweets we served…… I am speaking about the “Guest of Honor“. She was a lovely lady in her eighties; elegant  in presence, gracious in word, and thoughtful in encourgement. Her excitement, in serving the Lord, everyday, for the rest of her life, was infectious ….. desirous…..Oh, to follow her example……. Lord, I pray....

please help your servant to live your purpose for as long as you allow breath~

A young mother’s dream comes true…..
By marcie on 2/13/2008 9:24 PM

Greetings Everyone~

Like most young moms with daughters, I dreamed of having a wonderful relationship with my girls. A relationship that would someday allow us to be examples to and encourage other women, to never give up on developing that all important relationship. Last week as a daughter and I hosted a Tea for “Mother’s of Pre-Schoolers”, my dream was realized. First of all let me say that I was honored that my daughter ask me to participate in this wonderful gathering with her. And as the Lord would have it, one of the young mom’s at our table was having a hard time accepting a decision her mom made many years earlier. As she told the story, I couldn’t help but wonder why she was hanging on to what seemed to me a “small thing” for such a long time. As we listened to her hurt and probed a bit, we encourage her to move forward and build the relationship with her daughter that ...

Retirement..............Life begins again!!
By marcie on 1/23/2008 10:52 PM

Greetings Friends~

Well it's just around the corner now, retirement that is. The countdown has begun.

Woe.... the emotions are all over the place at times. Excitement one moment thinking of the freedom I will have that I haven't had for years, and  anticipating making the most of the days I have left. Sadness the next minute thinking about the people I probably won't see again. and wondering ,..."did I leave an impression of the Lord behind"?  Anxiousness for a second about cutting back on the "wants" a girl might have....that reminds me of one of my father's frequent sayings, " Your wants are greater than your needs." As a young girl, I didn't understand that statement, because, didn't girls "need" everything...tee hee.  The strongest emotion I feel is Gratitude...deep, deep  gratitude to the Lord, ...

“Invest in a grandchild when he is young……….
By marcie on 1/16/2008 9:53 PM

Greetings Everyone~

….and he will not depart from you when you are old“. My paraphrase of Proverbs 22:6.

Every trip to their home, every board game moment, every birthday party…with that “grandma sit by me”, request.   Every photo op, every putt-putt golf- swing lesson ( he was the instructor), every baseball game attended, every basketball game watched, every moment of delightful chatter….time invested , never wasted. And now ...I am older... and so is he…but... my grandson invested time in ME last Saturday….and I am honored. You see, he is now a high school senior with his own car, good friends, writes music, has his own band. .He could have spent his afternoon listening to music, or at the home of friends, or doing a dozen other things…but he chose to “hang out” with ME…..and talk ab ...

“New Eyes”…………..
By marcie on 1/8/2008 8:20 PM

Greetings Everyone~

“Cute” she exclaimed! “I like it” she remarked over and over ,with a strong approving voice in a very thoughtful manner.

“ But, but”, I ask, “are they….

Serious ….

Sofisticated….

and fun?…..”

“yes, yes, yes,...Uptown even” ...she answered with a smile.

“How about, …..youthful…do they say , there’s a young girl in this old girls body?…..do they…do they…..eeks…..suddenly it is the Lords voice I hear and He reminded me that, “I the Lord look on the heart,…..but man looks on the outside”…..“Okay Lord“, I say, but if t ...

“The Pursuit Of God”…………
By marcie on 12/4/2007 9:10 PM

Greetings Everyone~

I have been reading “The Pursuit of God” by A. W. Tozer. This book has only 121 pages, but it is not a “quick read.” It is a “MUST READ” though if you have been pondering thoughts of God this Christmas Season. As I have finished reading it, I find myself longing to “Know Him“, really “Know Him more.” ….and to feel His presence, and as my Father-in Law prays, “ to be present in His presence.” This book will not go on a shelf, I will read it again and again, along side God’s word as my soul seeks comfort from the Soul Comforter

Psalm 42: 1-2: “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.”

Thanksgiving…………….it isn’t over
By marcie on 11/28/2007 3:09 PM
Greetings Everyone~

That’s right, Thanksgiving is not over… it is just beginning.  As we anticipate Christmas and celebratethe birth of Jesus our Savior, I am mindful that HE is the GREATEST gift of all, “The Reason for The Season.”I am deeply saddened to know that many reject this precious Gift from God….and I wonder…why? After all, it’s about eternity, and after all, it’s free… though I always tell my family “nothing” is free, this Gift IS… I mean we didn’t pay for it, never could, the One who paid the price, is the baby in the manger that we adore every Christmas…and I am thankful, so very thankful and humbled to see how deep the Father’s love is for us, that He sent this baby to save us. Now I know about love, of course I do…after all, ...
